We are pleased to announce that a research article by Dr. Yi-Chen Chen and his colleagues at Setsuro Tech has been published in the peer-reviewed international journal Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology.

In this study, the authors present a novel in-ovo sexing method based on precision breeding that does not require the integration of exogenous DNA. By precisely targeting the pigmentation-related SLC45A2 gene, the method enables a visible sex identification at embryonic day 7 (E7) based on differences in eye pigmentation, allowing non-invasive, simple, and accurate detection through egg candling.

Importantly, the approach does not require specialized equipment and can be integrated into existing hatchery workflows, offering a practical solution that also addresses animal welfare concerns.
