We are pleased to announce that a review article authored by our researcher, Yi-Chen Chen, has been published on genome editing technologies to accelerate chicken breeding in the peer-reviewed international journal Protein Expression and Purification.

This paper provides an overview of recent advances in genome editing technologies in avian species, with a particular focus on surrogate host technologies in germ cell–mediated genetic modification. The article systematically summarizes various germ cell ablation approaches—physical, chemical, irradiation-based, and genetic methods—to enhance germline transmission efficiency, as well as emerging technologies such as inducible sterility systems. The article also discusses future perspectives within these novel technologies.
